potential public land sales:
make your voice heard
Public land sales could impact your access to recreation if we the people who value them don’t stand up.
A week ago, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee added to the Senate version of “One Big Beautiful Bill” a provision that would MANDATE the BLM and U.S. Forest Service sell between 2.5 and 3 million acres of the American People’s public lands. These are lands that we ride, hike, hunt, fish, and camp on and nearly all western states will be affected if it passes.
Team AMPL values our relationships with the WY and ID delegations and appreciates their support for multi-use recreation. We must lean on all of our Senators to stop sweeping public land sales, or our favorite open spaces and recreation opportunities could be at risk. We urge you to call your Senators and stand up for keeping public lands open to ALL Americans.
Read the bill HERE. It is important to read and understand the nuances of this legislation.
how do you use your public lands?
Your voice is important for shaping the future of our public lands. All major decisions regarding access, recreation, and land-use can be affected by public comment.
AMPL has created this FORM for you to fill out that will be used to show land managers how people are using our public lands.
Thank you for your input and participation, it is crucial to the future of multi-use recreation!
Bridger-Teton National Forest - Forest Plan Revision
The Bridger-Teton National Forest is undergoing a Forest Plan Revision. This 2-3 year process will either positively or negatively impact recreation on our public lands. This process looks at the entire 3.4 million acres of Forest, forces land managers to evaluate current use, and develops a plan to fit current trends and the next 30-40 years. AMPL is participating in collaborative working groups, meeting with land managers, organizing with other nonprofits, and relying on our recreational community to help shape the future of public land use and ensure a bright future for multi-use recreation.
